“Making Play Happen” is one of our two guiding values, and at the heart of making play happen is the need to ensure that the play activities we, or anyone else, offers are stimulating, fun and safe. If you have already visited our “About Us” page then you will know that Milton Keynes Play Association offers a wide variety of services involving play for children and young people in Milton Keynes. It is important for us to know that the youngsters we help not only have a range of fun resources to enhance their play experience available to them, but also have exciting and safe places to play and that they are looked after by properly trained and accredited staff.
We are pro-active in trying to source play resources and our famous Scrap Store provides an endless stock of fun, colourful and tactile materials that can be adapted to countless play activities. The majority of our Scrap Store stock is kindly donated by local companies and without the support of these companies our lives would be made a great deal harder to make play happen. The Equipment Library we operate is a well stocked, well organised treasure trove of games and toys .
Here at MK PA we also know that children with learning difficulties or needs that are more specialist than others love to play and gain much from the stimulation and inclusion of play, and we have specially trained staff that help with inclusive activities. MK PA also provides comprehensive training so that you, the helper, assistant, volunteer or member of staff is made more aware of relevant issues, receive full Health and Safety Training, or are accredited to OFSTED standards.
