Loughton sports ground, 10 – 12:30pm
Funion Bargee, New Bradwell, by the New Inn, off Bradwell Road, 1:30 – 3:30pm
Woodland play, Kents Hill park, 2 – 4pm

WEDNESDAY
Conniburrow, end of Mallow Gate, 10 – 12pm
Woodland play, Linford wood, 2 -4pm

THURSDAY
Funion Bargee, New Bradwell, by the New Inn off Bradwell Road, 10:30 – 12:30pm
Great Holm, next to meeting place, 2 – 4:30pm
Broughton, by the Pavillion, 2 – 4pm

FRIDAY
Woodland play, Poplar plantation, off Brickhill Street V10, Noon Layer Drive, Woodall Close, 11 – 1pm

DBS News – Update Service

The DBS have recently released further details of their much anticipated Update Service, originally scheduled for the Spring of this year but now due in the Summer.

This will allow a DBS applicant to subscribe to the Update Service and grant any prospective employers or voluntary organisations access to the Certificate, called a Status Check. This can only be done with the individual applicants permission.

Training Opportunities at MKPA May 2013

Safeguarding for Designated Leads – This course is to ensure that designated leads are able to implement their responsibilities in safeguarding children in line with Government and Local Safguarding Children Board protocals.

1st & 2nd May – 630pm-930pm – £45.

ADHD Awareness – Basic understanding of the condition and how to support children in your care.

1st May – 930am-1230pm – £27 members / £29 non-members.

Epipen – aims to give confidence in administering pens with a practical session and demonstrations of different types of pen.

7th May – 630pm-8pm – £16 (other dates available).

Food Safety – Accredited course by the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health, including a 30 question multiple choice paper.

8th & 15th May – 630pm-930pm – £50 (other dates available).

Advanced Face Painting – Do you want to extend your skills? Want to create realistic looking scars, bruises? Come on this fun workshop.

Sat 11th May – 10am-2pm – £25 members / £27 non-members.

Basic Safeguarding children – understand what your responsibilities are when working with children and young people.

13th & 14th May 930am-12pm – £40.

Fire Awareness – Basic fire safety to help prevent and deal with fires in your setting or home.

13th May – 630pm-930pm – £45.

How Inclusive is your Setting? – helps you to assess your own policies and practice in relation to inclusion.

14th May – 630pm-930pm – £27 members / £29 non-members.

Assertiveness – strategies to enable you to make changes in your behaviour to improve both working & personal relationships.

22nd May – 630pm-930pm – £34 members / £36 non-members.

MKPA are a member of Play England, the national charity representing and advocating for children’s play. One of it’s campaigns is ‘Love Outdoor Play’ and they have just produced this short video promoting why outdoor play is important for children and how you can support it. Why not take a couple of minutes to have a look.

And here it is! Your guide to the MKPA’s FREE play sessions taking place this Easter, from the 2nd-12th April.

Details are here for all sessions funded by participating Parish/Town Councils across the city, as well as activities on our Play Boat, and our ever-popular Woodland Play sessions.
